$10 Million Qualcomm Tricorder XPRIZE


Launch a global incentivized competition to address the challenge of providing intelligent health diagnoses to the “palm of your hand,” and publicize the revolution this would signify. This $10 million competition would take aim at woefully inadequate healthcare diagnostics and treatment systems in the U.S. and worldwide, by diagnosing 15 core disease conditions with a consumer-friendly, hand-held device inspired by Star Trek’s medical “tricorder.” 


Created a multi-faceted digital campaign through web, social media, and blogging that supported the wide-scale launch at CES. Successfully tapped into digital communities representing emerging healthcare technologies and sci-fi/entertainment enthusiasts who follow Star Trek, and enlisted them to propel the conversation about the competition. Exceeded goals for worldwide team signups through integrated social media campaign.
